RSAcore is part of the Department of Orthopaedics at the Leiden University Medical Centre.

The Department of Orthopaedics at the LUMC has a long experience in RSA technology development and RSA clinical research. In 1974 Kees Spoor used stereo roentgen to study anatomical shapes and since 1993 Edward Valstar started implementing RSA in Leiden. This resulted in a commercial RSA system in 1998 and since 2003, Model-based RSA, developed by Bart Kaptein is the leading software system for clinical RSA research. Recently, a new software system called Volumetric Matching Micromotion Analysis (V3MA) was created for CT-RSA analysis.

Apart from technical RSA development, LUMC is also expert on RSA clinical studies, implant safety studies, migration threshold development and collaboration with other clinical centers with regard to RSA research.

RSAcore is specialized in providing support in the design and analyses of clinical RSA research using state of the art Model-based RSA software.
